Information Systems

An information system is composed of five components (there is hardware, software, data, procedures, and people) that when put together it produces information. Tony and Vinnies' use all five components.

Structured and Dynamic Processes 

• Our company utilizes a structured business process. We have a set way of doing things. The same procedures are followed on a daily basis by our staff.
• We focus on the manufacturing process at Tony and Vinnies because our main goal is take our raw materials and transform them into finished goods.Following the manufacturing process helps us monitor the flow of our materials and products.The scope of our company is small making it a workgroup process which helps our company keep track of inventory and the orders we place with our vendors for raw materials and other goods.
• Tony and Vinnies is an old school family owned bakery. We don’t use much technology in the store. Therefore it helps us avoid having any silos. We don’t have to share or connect any major information with any departments.
• Our company does not collaborate with any major departments such as Customer relationship management, Enterprise resource planning, or Enterprise application integration.
• Our dynamic structure consists of two social media platforms.
• Facebook and Instagram.

Hardware and Software 

Types of Hardware 

• Android tablet 

• Clover POS - Custom hardware with built-in applications. We use clover to charge customers (cash, credit, debit), receipts (print, email, text), and view transaction history.

Types of Software 

• Clover- custom software pre-installed on clover device.

• Clover can be operated on (os agnostic and windows 10)

• Doordash - installed on android tablet. Used to connect with our customers, shows the orders being placed by our customers, and shows us which orders are being placed up for delivery for the dasher.

• StockIt - an application on clover used to keep track of our inventory, and connect with our vendors to place any orders for raw materials and goods that we are running low on.

• StockIt is a vertical market application because it is used one specific company.
